September’s Featured Restaurant: La Societe

Yorkville is one of the best areas in Toronto for shopping and dining, which is why there’s no surprise that September’s featured restaurant is located in this upscale part of town.

La Societe Bistro is just that, a portal into French dining where comfortable leather booths are surrounded by more intimate tables for two, a stained glass feature ceiling and macaroon towers are scattered around.

This establishment is one that is loaded with details, from the tiny black and marble tiles to the personalized cloth napkins and the assorted fresh oyster bar. A more recent addition to La Societe is the fully enclosed, heated terrace that can set any mood with its glimmering candles and antique French fixtures.

The menu offers classic items like frog legs ($16) pan seared foie gras ($25) and duck confit ($32). A selection of steaks and seafood is also available in addition to sides, such as the brussel sprouts or fresh asparagus ($10) which are suitable for vegetarians. It is important to note that no main dishes for veggies can be found on the menu and the black olive tapenade in the romaine salad includes anchovies.

Next date night, consider going with the Prix-Fixe menu, which is a great choice at just $44 per person. To make reservations, click here and let us know what you thought about La Societe, September’s featured restaurant.
