Lester B Pearson Collegiate Institute

Lester B. Pearson is a community school with a multicultural group of students coming from 56 different countries, speaking 42 languages, and practicing 17 different religions. We promote appreciation of diversity as inspired by our motto, Peace through Understanding, taken from the 1957 Nobel Peace Prize speech by Lester B. Pearson. We pride ourselves in offering a full range of programs to students of all levels.

Students and parents place a high priority on education and employability skills. Through the Guudance Department we provide comprehensive career exploration and a network of supports to help students stay focussed on their goals and be successful.

We have partnered with the University of Toronto in the Steps to University program, and also offer Advanced Placement courses in Maths and Sciences. In addition, Pearson features the Nighana program where there is an emphasis on Afro-Canadian history and literature. Pearson has fostered partnerships and connections with community organizations and businesses, and we are assisted by a strong School Advisory Council.
